"MR10" by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe for Knoll International, Brown Leather and Chromed Dining Chairs, 1960

These iconic MR10 dining chairs designed by Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe and manufactured by Knoll International are cherished for their sleek design, high quality of metal work and overall comfort. 

The "MR10" is one of the most iconic design chairs of all time, introduced for the first time in 1927 at Die Wohung exhibition in Stuttgart. People were amazed for two reasons: tubular steel and weight all supported by front legs. Especially "MR10" chairs together with "MR20" compose the Weissenhof set of chairs, designed by Mies Van Der Rohe and the Russian architect Sergius Ruegenberg. The steel finish contrasts with the leather seat and back, creating a streamlined of the chairs. 

Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe (1886-1969) was a German-born American architect whose rectilinear forms, crafted in elegant simplicity, made him among the most prominent and influential architects of the twentieth century. He was initiated into architecture through masonry, stone carving, stucco decoration, and furniture design before working as an architect in Peter Behrens’ office. Our atelier carefully checked the chairs. Signs of use and time, the leather shows consistent wear.
