Osvaldo Borsani was an Italian designer and architect who was active from the 1930s until the 1970s. He founded the company Arredamenti Borsani Varedo (later renamed Arredamento Borsani) in the 1950s with his brother, Fulgenzio Borsani. The company produced high-end furniture and home accessories, and it quickly gained a reputation for quality and innovative design.

One of the most iconic designs produced by Arredamento Borsani is the Onyx round table, which was designed by Osvaldo Borsani in 1955. The table features a circular top made of onyx, a natural stone with distinctive veining and coloration. The top is supported by sculptural base.

The Onyx table is an example of Borsani's skill at combining traditional materials with modern design.
