A striking Italian Space Age coffee table from the 1970s, combining smoked glass, transparent plexiglass and an illuminated Murano glass sphere. The low circular form and layered construction create a distinctly futuristic aesthetic, characteristic of the experimental Italian design of the period.

Two circular smoked glass surfaces are supported by a transparent plexiglass structure, creating a floating visual effect while keeping the sculptural centre of the table fully visible.

Illuminated Murano Glass Sphere

At the centre sits a large Murano glass sphere, featuring an organic sculptural pattern within the glass. The sphere is internally illuminated, producing a warm ambient glow and dramatically changing the appearance of the table when switched on.

The light filters through the Murano glass and reflects across the smoked glass surfaces, emphasising the contrast between transparency, light and sculptural form.

Functional Light Sculpture

More than simply a coffee table, the piece functions as a light sculpture and piece of furniture in one. The combination of smoked glass, clear plexiglass and illuminated Murano glass gives the table a strong 1970s Space Age character and makes it an exceptional statement piece within a contemporary or vintage interior.
