Thick Handblown Italian Art Glass

This striking Italian Murano glass vase is crafted from exceptionally thick, heavy handblown glass and retains its original marking, “Venice Glass Italy.” Its rounded, sculptural form combines earthy amber and brown tones with vivid cobalt blue, green and pale blue inclusions suspended throughout the glass.

The substantial weight and thickness of the glass give the vase a strong sculptural presence. Layers of mottled amber glass are contrasted by colourful abstract inclusions, creating depth and variation from every angle. The organic decoration and free-form composition are characteristic of Italian art glass production of the mid-century period.

The vase is clearly marked “Venice Glass Italy,” identifying it as Italian glass production associated with the Venetian glassmaking tradition. Rather than attributing the piece to a specific Murano manufacturer, the original marking provides the clearest identification of its origin.
