Orange Floor Lamp by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, 1960s
Orange Floor Lamp by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, 1960s
This floor lamp is a stunning example of Italian Space Age design from the 1960s. This timeless floor lamp was designed by Carlo Nason, a renowned Italian glass designer and lighting designer who was born in Murano in 1935. Nason worked for AV Mazzega, a Venetian glass company founded in 1946 that specialized in the production of Murano glass lighting, and this lamp is one of his iconic designs.
The lamp is made entirely out of Murano glass, which is a type of hand-blown glass that is produced exclusively on the Venetian island of Murano. The orange color of the glass creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the metal chromed center rings add a touch of contrast and sophistication to the overall design.
